Mobile App Goals: Increase mobile traffic and engage mobile base with incentives.
Weber Chevrolet didn’t just get an app, they jumped in with both feet. Initial efforts have doubled mobile traffic and placed Weber as the #3 most visited dealer in the nation by mobile traffic.
“We wanted to make sure we effectively promoted our mobile app to our customer base.” Stated Mike Maher, Internet Manager, “The results have exceeded our expectations.”
Weber started by implementing a few mobile app promotion best practices. “A link to our app goes out with each customer touch,” Mike states. Weber placed app logos and branding in mass email,
CRM email signatures, and automatic inquiries. App branding throughout the website clearly states Weber is mobile friendly.
Weber used their social network, including Facebook and Twitter pages to introduce the new app to customers.
“We included a preview video of the app in action to help Facebook fans get excited about the app.”
Weber’s promotional efforts have paid off. The Weber Chevrolet app now has over 1,000 users – with customers coming into the showroom commenting on the app. “We’ve had our sales team use the app in the showroom and on the lot as a digital brochure. Customers really seem to like it.”
What’s next for Weber? Mike Maher will be using the next month to launch QR codes for the app. “We’ll be putting the QR codes on printed brochures, on window stickers, and print ads.” Customers can simply scan the QR code to be directed to the Weber mobile app. “We want our customers to know we’re mobile friendly. QR codes are just another way our customers can quickly shop us on their mobile device.”
